The build quality is impressive. The pan feels heavy-duty and the scrapers are sturdy enough to really get under the rolls. It's a very simple but effective design.

I mixed sugar, vanilla extract and half and half and poured a thin layer on the freeze plate. After a few minutes I was able to make good tasting ice cream.
